As I was going through a small stack today, I realized that there were some words that were constantly repeated in surveys from people and facilities all around the country, so I decided to post a few for you all to see.
Just reading these words will give you a feeling for the sorts of emotions and thoughts our programs cause all around the U.S. I think it’s just great to know.

I started working at Kids Wish Network over 3 ½ years ago and I always enjoy coming to work. I can’t say that for every job I’ve ever had however!

As the Office and Personnel Administrator in the Human Resource Department I get to work directly with all of our great KWN associates and Managers taking care of new hires, training, benefits, payroll, volunteers and many other tasks. Though my position does not have any direct involvement with our brave wish children and their families, I love hearing all about the wonderful wishes taking place at any given time!

One of the ‘fun’ responsibilities I also have is to help keep ‘employee morale’ up. I am the official “Morale Committee”. We now have a ‘vending’ area to help raise money for the associates’ fund. It’s amazing what a piece of chocolate will do for you in the middle of the afternoon to get you back on track . We also have fun events such as pot luck lunches (we have some awesome cooks here), pizza parties, and hot dog lunches. Last May we held our first annual KWN Family picnic. As you can tell, food keeps us motivated!

Every Friday is ‘goodie’ day at KWN where I bring in a variety of items for all the associates. They really look forward to that…again, more FOOD! Oh well, whatever it takes to make them happy I say.

Kids Wish Network is truly like one big happy family with only 27 employees. We may be small but we do the work of a much larger company with the hundreds of wishes we grant every year and all of the other wonderful programs we have.

Kathleen

Office and Personnel Administrator

When I asked Trenton what is was that he wanted for his wish he answered, “I would like a playhouse please, ma’am.” I smiled and thought to myself that most grown-ups aren’t this polite. It was such a pleasure to be involved in creating this special space for Trenton to escape. All he wanted was a place of his own.
